Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Director of Nursing Cardio Progressive Care/Telemetry Unit for Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center.

6 Tower is 34-bed medical surgical telemetry unit, where nursing care is provided to adult cardiac and acute care medical surgical patients 18 years through the lifespan. Patients care for on this unit include heart failure, LVADs and heart transplant.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Master’s preferred
• Current New Jersey RN Licensure
• BLS required. (American Heart Association)
• ACLS required (American Heart Association)
• Experience in Med Surg and/or Telemetry required

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full Time 40 hours per week

Essential Functions:

• Accountability and supervision for staff that includes RN's, CNA's & Unit Secretaries for 34 bed Medical/Surgical/ Telemetry Unit and other healthcare providers who deliver care to patients in the inpatient setting.
• An integral part of the Nursing Leadership Team at RWJ New Brunswick
• Responsibility for multiple teams who support daily essential patient care
• This individual is responsible to have 24/7 responsibility, recruit and manage multiple teams and improve quality and customer satisfaction

• Providing guidance and support to improve nursing practice and morale
• Ensuring that necessary resources, such as equipment, supplies, and staffing levels, are available to provide safe and effective patient care
• Manage department budgets, ensure cost-effective care delivery, and optimize the use of resources within the organization
• Monitoring patient outcomes and implementing quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of care,
• Ensuring compliance with regulations and safety protocols
• Creating and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure consistent and high-quality nursing care,
• Addressing concerns from patients, families, and staff, and resolving conflicts in a timely and professional manner
• Encourage ongoing education and training for nursing staff to enhance skills and foster a culture of professional development
• Contribute to long-term planning for the unit or facility, including the implementation of new technologies processes, or services to improve patient care and operational efficiency,
• Provides leadership and direction in order to fulfill the goals and objectives of the unit/organization,
• Effectively communicates information to staff, utilizes resources and manages staff and services,
