Director - Products & Services, Animal Agriculture

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director - Products & Services, Animal Agriculture based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to lead digital transformation initiatives that are shaping the future of animal agriculture through innovative technology, data, and AI-driven solutions.
The successful candidate will oversee a diverse portfolio spanning product management, data services, IT, and client support while enabling smarter decision-making across the livestock value chain.
You will lead a high-performing, cross-functional team and define strategies that connect technology investments with meaningful customer outcomes.

Accountabilities
  • Lead and mentor high-performing teams across Product Management, Data Services, IT, and Client Support, creating a culture focused on innovation, accountability, strategic thinking, and continuous learning.
  • Define and execute the digital product portfolio strategy, ensuring technology initiatives support business goals and enable experts to deliver greater value to customers.
  • Drive the adoption of AI and automation across the organization by integrating intelligent workflows, predictive capabilities, and emerging technologies into products and operations.
  • Manage the annual capital strategy and technology investment portfolio, including business cases, prioritization, governance processes, forecasting, and financial management.
  • Oversee product strategy development, roadmap planning, discovery processes, requirements definition, and delivery execution.
  • Establish and advance data governance practices, ensuring strong standards for data quality, security, compliance, stewardship, and master data management.
  • Ensure the delivery of accurate reporting, analytics, and data services that support internal teams and customer decision-making.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Commercial, and Customer Success teams to deliver new digital capabilities and continuously improve existing solutions.
  • Drive operational excellence by optimizing product development processes, data operations, and internal technology services.
  • Provide strategic leadership for IT operations, ensuring reliable systems, effective support processes, and strong user experiences.
  • Foster collaboration across teams and translate complex technology concepts into clear business strategies and outcomes.
  • Monitor technology trends and identify opportunities to improve products, services, and customer experiences through innovation.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in Product Management, Data & Analytics, Technology, Engineering, Operations, or related technology-focused leadership roles.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex digital products, technology solutions, or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong track record of developing and executing product strategies from concept through delivery while managing complex portfolios and roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational or technology transformation programs in customer-focused environments.
  • Strong financial management skills, including business case development, capital planning, investment prioritization, and governance.
  • Experience implementing AI, machine learning, automation, predictive analytics, or generative AI capabilities within products or business operations.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and emerging technologies, with a growth mindset toward practical AI adoption.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data governance practices, including data quality standards, stewardship models, security, and master data management.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, collaboration, and influencing skills across multiple organizational levels.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical and strategic concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences.
  • Strong strategic planning, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Business, or a related discipline; MBA considered an asset.
  • Experience in the livestock industry, cattle production, or other production animal sectors is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of modern data architectures, cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, or AWS, and analytics tools including Snowflake, Tableau, or Power BI is an asset.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, product management certifications, cloud technologies, or analytics certifications is considered beneficial.
