New Horizons is the largest mental health and addiction recovery provider on the Treasure Coast (and beyond), serving 15,000 children and adults annually through inpatient crisis services, 24-hour help line and mobile response team, and outpatient programs conveniently located across Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties. In addition, New Horizons assists 22,000 students in area schools, and we work closely with the courts, law enforcement, jails, and hospitals to help improve the health of individuals and the quality of life in our community.
New Horizons is looking for an HR Operations & Compliance Specialist who will support the Human Resources operations by administering compliance programs, managing employee records, overseeing credentialing, facilitating onboarding, driving employee engagement initiatives, and providing workforce support. This role assists with maintaining regulatory compliance, improving HR processes and systems, supporting internal and external communication efforts, and strengthening employee and community connections while contributing to workplace safety and workers’ compensation activities.
As a HR Compliance & Engagement Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Support HR compliance activities, including employee file management, audit preparation, documentation, reporting, and policy administration.
- Assist with internal and external marketing initiatives, including employee communications, recruitment marketing, events, community outreach, and promotion of organizational culture and engagement efforts.
- Own compliance tracking and reporting for credentialing requirements
- Support workers’ compensation administration and workplace safety activities, including incident documentation, investigations, trend tracking, return to work coordination, and injury prevention initiatives.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership regarding compliance, credentialing, safety, employee records, and workforce metrics.
- Support driver and motor vehicle compliance activities, including license verification, accident tracking, and required documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate records in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
This role includes regular interaction with employees, leadership, vendors, community organizations, and external partners and may require travel a few times per month throughout the organization’s four-county service area.

Requirements:Required
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred or equivalent experience
- Two years of experience in Human Resources, compliance, healthcare administration, onboarding, records management, employee engagement, safety, marketing support, or related field.
- Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and follow-up skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
- Valid Florida driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
- Experience with HR compliance, credentialing, onboarding, employee engagement, workers’ compensation, records administration, marketing support, or audit functions.
- Experience conducting training or presenting to employee groups.
- Experience with process improvement, records digitization, or workforce analytics.
- Adjuster experience in any field or role preferred.
