Position Summary
The Purchasing and Quality Coordinator supports daily on-site quality control activities, assists with new product development tasks, and performs purchasing functions. This role serves as the first point of contact for Purchasing questions, conducts initial issue assessments, and coordinates communication between internal teams and suppliers. The position requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to follow established procedures.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Quality Control
- Execute day-to-day on-site QC activities, including receiving, inspection, documentation, and photography.
- Verify incoming materials against specifications, purchase orders, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate QC records, logs, and documentation in accordance with company procedures.
- Identify nonconformities and conduct initial assessments based on established guidelines.
- Support root-cause investigation activities by gathering data, samples, and documentation.
New Product Development (NPD) Support
- Assist with on-site NPD tasks such as sample handling, measurement, documentation, and test preparation.
- Provide feedback on sample quality and specification alignment.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of NPD milestones.
Operational Support & Communication
- Serve as the first point of contact for questions and basic troubleshooting.
- Communicate with internal teams and suppliers to clarify issues, request information, and follow up on open items.
- Escalate issues to the manager when outside established guidelines or requiring higher-level decision-making.
Purchasing Support
- Performs purchasing tasks such as creating purchase orders, updating order status, and tracking deliveries.
- Maintain purchasing records and assist with vendor communication.
- Support cost, lead-time, and availability checks as directed.
Additional Responsibilities
• Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs.
Requirements:Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or relevant coursework preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in quality control, purchasing, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; ability to learn internal systems.
- Ability to work on site daily.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, consumer goods, or supply chain environments.
- Familiarity with QC inspection tools (calipers, scales, gauges) and documentation practices.
- Experience communicating with suppliers or cross-functional teams.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs. during inspection activities.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as measuring, photographing, and documenting products.
- Ability to work in a warehouse or production environment with varying temperatures.
Work Environment
- On-site role in an office and warehouse facility.
- May require occasional overtime based on operational needs.
Compensation & Benefits
- Employment Status: Full-time, Hourly, non-exempt (eligible for overtime).
- Compensation: $ 29 -30 / Hour – Depending on Experience
