Job Description

Business Operations Manager, Systems & Automation

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Operations Manager, Systems & Automation based in the United States.

This is a high-impact systems and automation role focused on helping a fast-growing business scale without scaling headcount at the same pace.
You will transform repetitive, high-effort operational work across Operations, Accounting, Revenue, and other functions into connected, scalable systems.
Rather than simply automating existing processes, you will challenge how work gets done and redesign workflows where meaningful improvements are possible.
You will own projects from discovery and specification through implementation, adoption, documentation, and ongoing reliability.
The role combines hands-on technical work with close collaboration across department leaders and frontline teams.
You will have significant autonomy to identify opportunities, prioritize solutions, and build tooling that creates measurable operational leverage.
This is a fully remote opportunity for someone who enjoys building practical systems, solving ambiguous problems, and owning outcomes end to end.

Accountabilities:
  • Build systems that streamline new-location activation and onboarding, reducing manual coordination and enabling activation capacity to scale with business growth.
  • Develop reporting and data pipelines for client reporting and billing preparation, enabling teams to review and approve outputs rather than manually assemble them.
  • Build revenue reporting and forecasting visibility that gives leadership and clients an up-to-date understanding of performance against plan.
  • Own cross-functional data and integrations, including commercial and contract information, ensuring consistent and reliable data across the systems where it is used.
  • Lead system adoption and enablement by training impacted employees, communicating system capabilities and limitations, and ensuring new solutions are successfully integrated into day-to-day workflows.
  • Establish and manage a transparent intake and prioritization process for system and automation requests across the organization.
  • Conduct discovery with department heads and individual contributors to understand real operational pain points before defining solutions.
  • Design connected systems rather than isolated scripts or one-off automations, creating reusable foundations for future projects.
  • Build solutions incrementally, starting with practical components that deliver measurable value and expanding them over time.
  • Apply a thoughtful automation philosophy by automating mechanical work while preserving human judgment for decisions that require context or nuance.
  • Design reliable fallback processes and consider failure scenarios when developing automated workflows.
  • Write specifications, develop and maintain integrations, and take ownership of systems after deployment, including troubleshooting and resolving failures.
  • Maintain clear technical and operational documentation so systems can be understood, maintained, and extended by others.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience in operations, revenue operations, sales operations, business systems, implementation, or a related function, with demonstrated experience building tooling rather than solely managing processes.
  • Proven track record of shipping operational or business systems that were adopted and actively used, with direct ownership of their performance and ongoing maintenance.
  • Strong software development capabilities, including writing and maintaining APIs, working regularly in a code repository, querying production databases with SQL, and scripting against third-party APIs.
  • Strong familiarity with AI-assisted development and productivity tools, including Claude or comparable AI technologies.
  • Ability to understand the complete customer lifecycle, from commercial agreement and activation through live operations, revenue recognition, and billing, and identify how data flows across each stage.
  • Strong understanding of systems thinking, integrations, workflow design, automation, and data consistency.
  • Ability to work effectively with both senior stakeholders and frontline employees, translating business problems into practical technical solutions.
  • Strong discovery and problem-solving skills, with a preference for observing and understanding an existing process before determining what should be built.
  • Comfort working independently in an environment where requirements may be incomplete and priorities evolve.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to take full ownership of systems and outcomes, including diagnosing and resolving issues after launch.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in parking, hospitality, travel, or another operationally complex, multi-channel business.
  • Experience integrating systems that were not originally designed to work together, including managing different data formats, frequencies, and definitions.
  • Experience as the first or only person responsible for business systems, automation, or similar operational technology initiatives.
Benefits:
  • $115,000–$145,000 annual salary range.
  • Equity through stock options included as part of offers at every level.
  • Fully remote work from anywhere in the United States.
  • 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern collaboration window, with flexibility outside those hours.
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage with employer contributions.
  • Paid time off.
  • Significant autonomy over systems, automation priorities, and what gets built next.
  • Opportunity to create scalable infrastructure that continuously reduces manual work and gives time back to teams.
  • A high-ownership environment where the systems you build become foundations for future growth.
