This part-time consulting opportunity is designed for an accomplished nuclear industry leader with extensive experience across DOE programs and facilities.
You will support a Nuclear Leadership Academy focused on developing strong leaders and reinforcing a culture of safety, professionalism, collaboration, and high reliability.
The role centers on providing executive-level guidance and serving as a keynote speaker for leadership development initiatives.
You will help participants strengthen their leadership capabilities while sharing practical expertise gained through decades of experience.
The position also offers an opportunity to mentor other leadership professionals and contribute to the development of future leaders within a critical national mission environment.
Success requires deep knowledge of nuclear programs, government standards, DOE missions, and nuclear waste management.

- Serve as an executive keynote speaker for leadership development programs supporting a Nuclear Leadership Academy.
- Deliver engaging leadership content that helps participants strengthen decision-making, communication, accountability, and leadership capabilities.
- Promote nuclear professionalism and reinforce the behaviors and standards expected within high-reliability nuclear environments.
- Support initiatives designed to strengthen organizational safety culture and encourage consistent attention to nuclear safety principles.
- Encourage collaboration, trust, and high-reliability performance across leadership teams and participants.
- Share practical insights and lessons learned from extensive experience supporting nuclear programs and facilities.
- Mentor other leadership professionals and provide guidance on effective leadership practices within complex government and nuclear environments.
- Support leadership initiatives aligned with organizational values, behaviors, safety expectations, and mission objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; equivalent additional professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- 25+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Extensive experience working with nuclear programs and/or nuclear facilities.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a strong record of guiding, developing, and mentoring professionals.
- Experience working with government programs, requirements, and standards.
- Strong knowledge of Department of Energy nuclear waste programs and applicable standards.
- At least 15 years of experience supporting DOE-related projects and missions is preferred.
- Ability to successfully complete a federal background investigation and obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance if required by the assignment.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to federal contract security requirements.
- Ability to complete required health and safety training, medical monitoring, and client-directed drug and background testing.
- Must comply with applicable federal drug-free workplace requirements, including restrictions on marijuana use applicable to federal contractors.
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence experienced leadership audiences.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
