Job Description

Licensed Inbound Insurance Sales Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Licensed Inbound Insurance Sales Specialist based in Canada.

Join a customer-focused, pet-loving team helping owners make informed decisions about medical insurance for their pets. In this role, you’ll respond to warm inbound leads from customers actively exploring coverage and guide them through the enrollment process. You’ll use a consultative sales approach to understand individual needs, explain coverage options, and build trust through every interaction. The position combines sales expertise with empathy, active listening, problem-solving, and emotional resilience. You’ll also support existing members and confidently navigate questions, objections, and sensitive conversations. This is a fully remote opportunity for licensed professionals across Canada, with a structured training program and a performance-driven environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Respond to inbound warm leads from prospective customers who have expressed interest in pet medical insurance, providing timely, knowledgeable, and customer-focused assistance.
  • Use a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs and recommend coverage solutions that align with their circumstances.
  • Clearly communicate the value, features, and benefits of available policies, focusing on customer outcomes rather than price alone.
  • Maintain effective call control by setting expectations, guiding conversations, addressing questions and objections, and confidently moving customers toward enrollment.
  • Handle objections and sensitive conversations with empathy, patience, emotional intelligence, and professionalism while maintaining a positive customer experience.
  • Accurately enroll pets into insurance policies, collecting and documenting all required information and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Assist existing members when needed and collaborate with sales colleagues and management to achieve and exceed individual and team sales and productivity targets.
Requirements:
  • Hold an active provincial General/P&C Insurance license or equivalent, such as an OTL General Insurance Agent license or General Level 1 license, based on the province of residence.
  • Be eligible for license reciprocity in additional Canadian jurisdictions, excluding Québec.
  • Bring at least 2 years of professional sales experience, ideally with a demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding sales targets and productivity expectations.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong customer-centric approach and the ability to actively listen and translate customer needs into appropriate solutions.
  • Be confident handling objections and complex situations, with strong critical-thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrate patience, emotional intelligence, and emotional resilience when managing stressful, escalated, or sensitive customer interactions.
  • Have a positive, adaptable, goal-oriented mindset, a willingness to learn and grow, and proficiency with basic computer applications and data entry; insurance or pet insurance experience is an asset.
  • Be available for a rotating full-time schedule of 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week, including both Saturday and Sunday. Shifts may start as early as 3:00 AM Pacific Time or as late as 1:30 PM Pacific Time, with one consistent day off each week.
  • During the first eight weeks of training, be available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time.
  • Be eligible to work remotely from anywhere in Canada while maintaining the required insurance license for both Canada and the province of residence.
Benefits:
  • Base compensation of $25.50 CAD per hour for a full-time schedule, with eligibility for uncapped monthly performance-based bonuses.
  • Restricted Stock Units for new team members, with new-hire grants vesting over four years.
  • Employer-paid extended health coverage for employees and their families.
  • Employer-paid medical insurance for one eligible pet, either a cat or dog.
  • Four weeks of paid time off plus 11 paid floating holidays, allowing employees to choose the days that matter most to them.
  • Five weeks of paid sabbatical after five years of employment.
  • RRSP and pension support through a partnership with Wealthsimple.
  • Paid time off for volunteering with nonprofit organizations.
  • Fully remote work across Canada, combined with a casual, collaborative, pet-friendly, and inclusive work environment.
  • Commitment to equal opportunity, diversity, accessibility, and reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring and employment process.
