Job Description

Director, Product (KYB)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Product (KYB) based in Canada.

This is a senior product leadership opportunity focused on shaping the future of Know Your Business (KYB) solutions in a global digital identity and compliance environment. You will own the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and commercial performance of a strategically important portfolio. The role combines long-term strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution and cross-functional leadership. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Data Science, Design, Compliance, Partnerships, Sales, and executive stakeholders. A major focus will be advancing AI-first product innovation, from intelligent customer workflows to better product discovery and decision-making. You’ll also represent the product externally with customers, partners, analysts, and industry leaders. This is an opportunity to influence products that help organizations build trust, reduce fraud, and navigate evolving regulatory requirements worldwide.

Accountabilities
  • Define and execute the long-term vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for the KYB product portfolio, aligning priorities with business objectives, customer needs, regulatory developments, and market opportunities.
  • Partner with executive leadership to establish strategic priorities, investment decisions, portfolio plans, operating plans, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Lead product initiatives from discovery and concept through launch, adoption, optimization, and ongoing improvement, using measurable outcomes and data-informed prioritization.
  • Own portfolio performance across product health, business KPIs, adoption, customer satisfaction, retention, revenue, and broader financial outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with strategic customers, partners, analysts, and industry stakeholders to gather market intelligence, validate product direction, and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Translate customer problems, competitive insights, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes into differentiated product investments and commercial opportunities.
  • Evaluate build, buy, and partnership opportunities that can accelerate innovation and expand platform capabilities.
  • Champion AI-first product development by identifying opportunities for AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation across KYB workflows, customer experiences, risk decisioning, and internal product practices.
  • Promote responsible and scalable AI adoption, with attention to explainability, compliance, governance, customer trust, and ethical considerations.
  • Use AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to improve product discovery, research, roadmap planning, experimentation, documentation, and team productivity.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing product organization while establishing effective product management practices, operating rhythms, and decision-making frameworks.
  • Align Engineering, Design, Data Science, Compliance, Partnerships, Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams around strategic priorities and successful customer outcomes.
  • Lead go-to-market strategy in partnership with commercial teams, including product launches, positioning, sales enablement, customer presentations, analyst engagement, thought leadership, and industry events.
  • Serve as an executive-level product spokesperson and communicate the portfolio’s differentiated value proposition to customers, partners, analysts, and senior stakeholders.
Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience in software, technology, or product organizations, including 10+ years in Product Management with progressively increasing leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and scaling product organizations, including mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing Product Managers.
  • Proven success defining product vision and bringing enterprise SaaS products from strategy and discovery through execution, launch, commercialization, and optimization.
  • Deep domain experience in Identity, KYB, Digital Identity, FinTech, Fraud Prevention, Payments, Risk, RegTech, or closely related markets.
  • Strong executive leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and create alignment around complex strategic priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs, market opportunities, regulatory developments, and business objectives into successful product strategies.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Compliance, and Go-to-Market teams to deliver complex enterprise technology products.
  • Strong analytical and commercial mindset, with experience using customer research, product data, business metrics, and market intelligence to guide investment and prioritization decisions.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and executive presentation skills, with confidence engaging senior leaders, customers, partners, analysts, and external audiences.
  • Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, modern data technologies, and their practical application within enterprise software products.
  • Experience embedding AI-driven capabilities into products or leveraging AI to improve product discovery, customer research, product management workflows, and organizational productivity.
  • Familiarity with responsible AI, model governance, explainability, and ethical considerations, particularly within regulated or trust-sensitive industries.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and the ability to distinguish practical, high-value applications from technology for its own sake.
  • Customer-obsessed, strategic, collaborative, and results-oriented, with a strong bias for action and comfort making informed decisions in ambiguous environments.
  • A growth mindset and demonstrated passion for continuous learning, innovation, and developing exceptional teams.
Benefits
  • Competitive Canadian base salary of CA$195,000–CA$235,000, plus an annual bonus opportunity.
  • Market-based compensation informed by role scope, experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage for eligible full-time employees.
  • Retirement plans with company matching.
  • Paid time off and parental leave.
  • Annual education and training stipend equivalent to $1,000 in local currency.
  • Flexible hybrid working environment designed to support collaboration and flexibility, with location-specific arrangements.
  • Wellness initiatives, including workshops, events, and a complimentary Headspace subscription.
  • Employee Resource Groups that foster inclusion, community, and belonging.
  • Regular team lunches, social events, and opportunities for company-wide gatherings.
  • Supportive, collaborative culture with opportunities for professional growth, autonomy, and meaningful impact.
  • Opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, digital trust, AI, identity verification, and global commerce.
