Job Title: Miscellaneous Wage, College of Earth, Ocean and Environment, Delaware Sea Grant Fiscal Assistant

Anticipated Start Date: Immediate

Estimated Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour, commensurate with experience; part-time non-benefited position

Schedule: To be discussed during interview; approximately 10-15 hours a week; in person

Location: 118 Robinson Hall, Newark, DE 19716

Context of the Job:

Under the general supervision of the Delaware Sea Grant Fiscal Officer, the Fiscal Assistant performs financial and administrative support duties, including proposal preparation, award setup, monthly financial reports, and database administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in budget and forms documentation for proposal submissions to sponsored programs
  • Complete new award setup tasks including filing and database updates
  • Update award tracking portfolio budgets monthly
  • Update various Sea Grant financial reports monthly
  • Monitor and update internal tracking database and tracking spreadsheets on an as-needed basis
  • Assist in gathering and organizing award closeout documentation
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as necessary

Qualifications

  • Minimum of HS diploma or GED, some college preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability and desire to learn new computer systems
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of office operations
  • Ability to use effective communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to be flexible, manage time productively, and work independently
  • Proven ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, and judgment
  • Ability to respond well to changing priorities and urgent situations
