Clinical Support Technician/Unit Secretary Position Summary

Under the specific direction of the Nurse, the CST/Unit Secretary performs a variety of functions that support patient care within the unit. The CST/Unit Secretary assists with general patient care, data collection, documentation, application of monitoring devices, communicates patient data to nurse, stocks necessary equipment and supplies in patient rooms. Additionally, the CST/Unit Secretary will assist in the patient documentation preparation for admissions, discharges and transfers. The employee will demonstrate knowledge in the current concepts of his/her field and is responsible for providing quality service to patients and families.

Clinical Support Technician/Unit Secretary Position Requirements

  • Previous CNA/EMT experience preferred
  • Basic Computer knowledge
  • Medical Terminology preferred
  • High School graduate or equivalent required. CNA/EMT certification preferred with previous experience as a nursing assistant, home health aide, EMT or other healthcare-related education considered.

Clinical Support Technician/Unit Secretary Work Schedule

  • May be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy.
  • Scheduled off at least three holidays per year.
  • Required to work weekends per unit need.
  • Expected to work overtime on occasion.
