Pharmacy Technician in Rahway, New Jersey at RWJBarnabas Health

Job Overview:

The Pharmacy Technician will support and assist the Pharmacist in all aspects of the medication use process within their scope. The Pharmacy Technician assists in providing safe and efficient medication management / patient care to patients, physicians, employees, and functions in an environment which requires teamwork and flexibility.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred:

• PTCB Certification

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Must possess pharmacy technician registration in the state of NJ with the Board of Pharmacy or obtain it within 180 days of employment

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift working, 9:30pm-8am
• 7 on and 7 off position
• Full Time

Essential Functions:

• Taking responsibility within appropriate guidelines under the supervisor of the pharmacist for medication preparation and distribution duties, inclusive of fill medication orders

• Prepare premixed/frozen/mini bag plus IV products

• Refill floor stock and automated dispensing cabinets

• Perform inventory maintenance

• Unit inspections

• Order medications when appropriate

• Maintain cleanliness of the IV room

• Perform any other duties as required
