The Accounting Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization within the durable goods manufacturing industry. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with various accounting functions. The major end result of this role is to support the accounting team in achieving timely and accurate financial reporting, which is essential for informed decision-making. The Accounting Assistant will also contribute to the efficiency of financial operations by managing accounts payable and receivable, as well as performing bank reconciliations. Ultimately, this role is vital in helping the company maintain compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience in the durable goods manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and processing of accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Maintain and update financial databases and accounting software.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and assist in month-end closing activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and provide financial insights.
Skills:
The required skills such as bank reconciliation and accounts payable are essential for the daily operations of the Accounting Assistant, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
