Responsibilities

• Works under general supervision of Home Health RN
• Performs a variety of personal care services for home-bound patients
• Monitors vital signs, temperature, respiration and reports on patients’ condition
• Carefully documents services as rendered
• Assists with patient mobility and physical therapy and exercise
• Provides companionship and basic emotional or psychological support
• Helps with simple housekeeping chores

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certification as C.N.A.
• Ability to monitor vital signs and collect patient specimens
• Ability to remain flexible and calm in unfamiliar environments
• Strong communication skills and interpersonal capabilities
• Familiarity with basic nutrition and personal hygiene standards
