About This Position
General Overview: The Senior Accountant is responsible for various accounting and finance duties including, but not limited to: contractual commitments, journal entries, account reconciliations, account analyses, accounting schedules, and monthly financial close.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepares analyses for contractual commitments and ensures timely payment in accordance with the contracts
- Maintains SharePoint site and Access Database for contractual commitments, including but not limited to: player incentives, sponsorships, conference adoptions, licensing arrangements, etc
- Prepares and maintains recurring journal entries
- Prepares licensing revenue analysis, and works with licensees to ensure accurate and timely reporting and payment is received
- Review and release invoices and/or prepare journal entries to accrue for direct import and port of entry shipments
- Prepare schedules and record entries related to loyalty and gift card programs
- Prepares allowance for doubtful accounts and IBNR analysis
- Prepares workers' compensation schedules and related entries
- Maintains files and schedules for leases
- Maintains files for vehicle titles and registrations
- Maintains files for unclaimed property reporting
- Prepares various accounting, tax, and insurance schedules
- Prepares various journal entries, account reconciliations, and general month end close activities
- Manages assigned accounts and performs monthly reconciliations
- Assists with the coordination of internal and external audits
- Assists in all other areas of finance, accounting, tax, insurance, and compliance, as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- 4 6 years of accounting experience
- ERP experience desired (JD Edwards preferred)
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight timelines
- High level of integrity and ethical standards

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, ability to write advertising, reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must have proven exceptional written presentation and verbal communication skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of complicated math and algebra and analysis skills.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
