Pay Rate: $18/hour
Hours: 10–15 hours per week
Position Summary
The Summer E91 Events Intern supports Redeemer East Side’s building and Sunday operations during the month of June. This role is designed for someone who is organized, dependable, eager to learn, and interested in gaining hands-on experience in church operations, hospitality, and administrative support.
The intern will assist with a variety of building-related tasks, help support front desk and event systems, and provide administrative help with Sunday volunteer coordination. This role will work closely with the Building & Events Operations team and also support Sunday volunteer-related tasks in partnership with David Park. The intern will gain exposure to the day-to-day systems, tools, and workflows that help the church building run smoothly, safely, and hospitably.
Key Responsibilities
Building Operations Support
- Assist with general building-related administrative and operational tasks
- Help maintain organized supplies, storage areas, and basic inventory
- Support space readiness for weekday and Sunday ministry activity
- Assist with light event setup, breakdown, and hospitality preparation as needed
- Help monitor and communicate operational needs to the appropriate staff
- Provide support with signage, room prep, and wayfinding needs
Front Desk and Systems Learning
- Shadow front desk operations and learn core reception and hospitality practices
- Become familiar with building systems and tools used for scheduling, communication, and operations
- Assist with simple data entry, calendar updates, lists, and internal tracking tasks
- Observe how staff use systems for space reservations, building access, and event coordination
- Support documentation and organizational projects that improve team efficiency
Sunday Volunteer Administrative Support
- Assist David Park with Sunday volunteer-related administrative tasks
- Help update volunteer lists and internal databases
- Prepare and organize name tags and related Sunday materials
- Support list cleanup, record accuracy, and basic volunteer logistics
- Assist with other Sunday support tasks as assigned
Hospitality and Event Support
- Help create a welcoming environment for congregants, guests, renters, and ministry partners
- Support hospitality-minded building operations by helping spaces feel prepared, clear, and cared for
- Assist with practical needs tied to events and Sunday readiness
- Learn how operations supports ministry through attentiveness, service, and follow-through
Learning Opportunities
This internship is intended to be developmental as well as supportive. The intern will learn:
- How church building operations function behind the scenes
- Best practices for hospitality, first impressions, and front desk presence
- How scheduling, building systems, and operations workflows support ministry
- How to assist with event support and Sunday readiness
- How volunteer administration and database upkeep contribute to smoother ministry coordination

Qualifications
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Clear communication and willingness to ask questions
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow through on assigned tasks
- Comfortable learning new systems and tools
- Friendly, service-oriented, and able to interact warmly with staff, volunteers, and guests
- Able to handle light physical tasks such as carrying supplies, setting up materials, or preparing rooms
- Prior administrative, hospitality, church, or event support experience is helpful but not required

Reporting Structure
This role will report to the Building & Events Operations team and will also support select Sunday volunteer coordination tasks in collaboration with David Park.
Schedule and Term
- Temporary summer internship for the month of June
- 10–15 hours per week
- Weekly schedule to be determined based on team needs and intern availability
- Some Sunday-related support may be included as needed
Role Objective
The Summer Building Operations Intern helps Redeemer East Side cultivate a welcoming, organized, and well-supported environment by assisting with building operations, hospitality, and Sunday volunteer administration. This role supports the church’s broader goals of intentional care, operational excellence, and ministry readiness.
