Production Supervisor in Midlothian, Texas at The Sunrider Corporation

SUMMARY: 

Supervises and coordinates activities of production workers by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Directly supervises employees in the Cosmetics Filling, Packaging, Pre-weigh, and Compounding Departments.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

Two-year certificate from college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

COMPUTER SKILLS: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

REASONING ABILITY: 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
