Job Description

Position Description:
The CCMR Career and Life (CAL) Coach is a founding member of Restore TECH Academy’s team and plays a critical role in supporting student persistence, engagement, and completion. The CCMR CAL Coach serves as a primary student advocate, guiding students in goal setting, graduation planning, and career exploration while helping address barriers that may impact their success.

CCMR CAL Coaches manage a caseload of approximately 100 students and provide individualized support through regular check-ins, academic monitoring, and coordination of resources. This role works closely with teachers and campus leadership to ensure students receive the academic, social, and career support needed to stay on track, graduate, and successfully transition to employment and/or continued education.

This role requires fluency in English and Spanish and includes direct support of Spanish-speaking students and families.

This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Chief Growth Officer of Restore TECH Academy.

Responsibilities
  • Student Planning and Coaching
    • Support students in developing and completing graduation plans, goal setting, and career plans.
    • Provide individual and group coaching to support students in achieving personal, academic, and career goals.
    • Develop and implement student engagement strategies and incentives to increase persistence and academic success.
    • Maintain consistent outreach and follow up with students, including re-engagement efforts for those at risk of disengaging.
  • Academic Monitoring and Intervention
    • Monitor student progress and use student data to guide academic planning and interventions.
    • Collaborate with instructors to support individualized learning plans based on student needs and assessment data.
    • Conduct regular reviews of incoming and current transcripts and academic records to ensure accurate credit evaluation, identify gaps, and adjust graduation plans as needed.
  • Career Readiness and Postsecondary Support
    • Provide job readiness support including resume development, interview preparation, and professional skills.
    • Support students in developing and maintaining a career portfolio aligned to their goals.
    • Assist with job placement efforts, including tracking applications, interviews, and employment outcomes.
    • Conduct follow-up with students after placement or graduation to support persistence in employment and/or post-secondary pathways.
  • Digital Literacy
    • Support students in building digital literacy skills needed for academic success, job search, and workplace readiness.
  • Documentation and Data Tracking
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student interactions, goals, progress, services, and outcomes in required systems.
    • Track key student milestones including engagement, graduation progress, and postsecondary outcomes.
    • Use data to inform follow up, identify gaps, and support continuous improvement.
  • Life Coaching Development
    • Participate in training in life coaching through the Certified Life Coach Institute or another ICF-accredited provider, leading to the Certified Life Coach (CLC) credential.
    • Apply coaching strategies and frameworks in student interactions.
  • Collaboration
    • Partner with counselors, faculty, and staff to address behavioral needs through early identification and intervention.
    • Collaborate with the Registrar and PEIMS Clerk to support enrollment, reenrollment, and student transitions.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support student success and long-term outcomes.
    • Ensure consistent student engagement and maintain up to date, accurate records aligned with program expectations
    • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, school counseling, or a related area of study required.
  • Case management, counseling, or coaching experience required.
  • Experience in a nonprofit or school environment preferred.
  • Experience working with bilingual or Spanish-speaking populations preferred.
Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of socioemotional, behavioral, and academic needs in an adult education setting.
  • Knowledge of community resources and support services.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain consistent, supportive relationships with adult students.
  • Ability to support students through socioeconomical and behavioral challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data for informed decision making.
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and data with accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.

Schedule
  • Full-time, approximately 217 workdays, Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be required during peak enrollment and reporting periods. Some evenings and weekends may be required to support school events and operational needs. Schedule is subject to change based on school needs.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Estimated annual salary range: $50,000-$60,000, based on experience and education.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Must possess a valid Class “C” Texas Driver’s License or obtain one within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Work requires visual acuity, speech, hearing, and manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment. Duties include sitting, standing, walking, bending, and twisting as needed to perform essential functions.
