The Internship Opportunity: Warehouse & Inventory Management
The Port of Virginia – Virginia Port Authority is seeking a Warehouse & Inventory Management Intern that will focus on supporting asset management through data collection, research, and parts list development for specific equipment types.
The Port of Virginia's 8-Week Summer Internship Program runs from June 2, 2025 - July 25, 2025, and is designed to develop, teach, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students as they explore career opportunities within the maritime industry. Students will have the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to hands on, project-focused tasks in various departments throughout The Port of Virginia.
What You’ll Do: Outcomes & Experience
- Data collection and research – taking a list of inventory parts and conducting online and internal research to locate and download applicable data sheets for each part.
- Gain experience working in a real-world industrial/technical environment.
- Build confidence in handling complex tasks and presenting results to a professional audience.
- Gaining skills in technical research, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration & communication, and industry/equipment familiarity.
Who You Are: Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled and in an accredited program or graduate program (having completed freshman / first year) during the time of the program.
- Must be available to work full time (40 hours per week) from June 2, 2025 to July 25, 2025.
