Job Description
Compass Engineering is a team of experienced engineers. We have office locations in Ohio and Texas, but our service teams are located across the US to better support our customers for the past 22 years.
We have over 150 years of combined experience in the field, giving knowledge that surpasses all other service companies. We are a small company that provides our customers with a personalized service tailored to their needs.
As a Service Engineer, you will provide critical onsite support to customers, and maintain their instrumentation in a wide range of fast-paced facilities. This position requires time management, communication skills, strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in a high demand environment.
Responsibilities:
- Always represents the company in a professional manner with integrity, while providing outstanding customer service that aligns with Compass Engineering's vision and values.
- Represents the company by serving as the direct customer contact on-site and responsible for the equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by proper execution of preventive maintenance, modifications, diagnosing, and repairing equipment at customers' location.
- Responsible for submitting accurate field service reports, expense reports, and other necessary paperwork.
- Must recognize and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental rules and policies that are applicable to each location.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills to provide on-site and phone support for customers, field service engineers and other service team members.
- Must be a self-starter and able to perform assigned tasks efficiently with no supervision.
- Must be able to read, interpret and understand manufacturers' equipment technical manuals.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and pneumatic schematics.
- The ability to communicate technical concepts and troubleshooting instructions via telephone and/or in writing.
- Must have computer knowledge and competency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as various OEM instrument software packages.
Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations.
- May frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move heavier pieces of equipment with support equipment and/or assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
- Initial training locations and base locations in a commutable distance from Overland Park KS, Ravenna, OH, Santa Clara CA, Toledo OH, Baytown TX, & Canyon Lake TX, Saint Joseph, MI
- Up to 90% Travel.
The salary is commensurate with experience to include base and commission. Potential based on business generated and/or services performed and previous experience.
