We're looking for a Lead Mechanic to lead a team of mechanics in performing non-engine mechanical work on commercial vehicles.

What you will be doing as a Lead Mechanic:

· Perform mechanical work including but not limited to alignments, brakes, suspensions, electrical, hydraulic, kingpins, fluid changes, and DOT Inspections for commercial and light truck applications.

· No engine or transmission work is performed at this facility.

· Provide leadership for a team of mechanics doing similar work by:

o Providing guidance and training to other team members

o Helping to assign jobs and duties to team members

o Assisting with scheduling customer jobs

o Helping to motivate team members and keep them on task

· Maintain and control parts and supplies inventory.

· Track and record work performed and create work orders for customer jobs.

The boxes you have to check to apply:

· Six years of general mechanical work experience, including at least 3 years of experience with commercial vehicles.

· Experience doing commercial vehicle alignments is a must.

· Must have own tools and tool storage.

· Experience working with computer point of sale software is a plus.

· Possessing a CDL is a plus.

· Customer Oriented – Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures.

· Detail Oriented – Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.

· Safety Conscious – Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.

· Schedule Flexibility – Employee must be flexible on scheduled hours realizing that business hours are dictated by customer needs and can run past scheduled ending times or start before scheduled beginning times.

· Technical Aptitude – Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information.

· Working Under Pressure – Ability to complete assigned tasks in stressful situations.

· Frequent squatting, bending, and twisting

· Lifting: frequent lifting over 50 pounds from ground to chest high

· Repetitive motion

· Sustained Vibrations

· Standing for extended periods of time

· Read ticket and perform work listed; write confirmation and recommendation

· Environment: Work in an environment that is not climate controlled. Temperatures range from extremely hot to extremely cold, depending on the season.

· Vision (Near, distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception)

· Sense of sound (Alarms, horns and motorized equipment)

· PPE: Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Safety Glasses, gloves, safety harnesses, steel reinforced footwear)
