Job Description:

GigaTECH is seeking Cyber Security Engineer candidates to support a dynamic team in the development, deployment, and maintenance of secure network environments at Veterans Affairs. This role involves utilizing advanced Cyber Security tools, managing complex network topologies, implementing and maintaining intrusion detection systems, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and other secure network protocols.

The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable cybersecurity regulations and standards. This includes providing guidance on implementing regulatory requirements, assessing risks, and contributing to developing policies and procedures to safeguard information systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline
• 10+ years of experience
• 8 years’ additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
• Ability to research, evaluate, and develop security policies and guidance
• Advantageous to have at least one of the following relevant certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Security+, and/or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills in a technical environment

Required Experience:

• Demonstrated experience with Cyber Security tools and technologies
• Strong knowledge of network topologies, intrusion detection systems, PKI, and secure networks
• Familiarity with cyber security regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, or relevant frameworks)

• Experience recommending best practices in security architecture that promotes cost-effective and efficient systems solutions
• Proven ability to implement and enforce cyber security regulations and best practices
