Description:

The Director of Supply Chain & Strategic Procurement at SHINE will report into the VP, Business Operations and will build and lead an integrated supply chain organization for a growing radiopharmaceutical company. This role owns end-to-end supply planning and execution—from strategic procurement and supplier management to S&OP, production planning, inventory management, and distribution/logistics—ensuring uninterrupted, compliant supply to support clinical and commercial operations. The Director of Supply Chain & Strategic Procurement partners cross-functionally with Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to optimize service levels, cost, risk, and compliance in FDA-regulated environments.

This position is based in Massachusetts and requires presence on-site 5 days per week. The base salary range for this position is $215,000-$230,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Procurement & Contracting

  • Develop and execute category strategies for direct and indirect spend, aligning sourcing plans with growth, capacity expansion, and product portfolio needs.
  • Lead competitive sourcing events (RFx), negotiations, and contract lifecycle management to improve total cost of ownership, quality, and supplier performance.
  • Own procurement governance, policies, and controls to ensure alignment with internal requirements, quality standards, and audit readiness.
  • Partner with Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and spend analytics; establish cost savings and value capture reporting.
  • Oversee procurement of radioactive materials and related services in compliance with applicable regulations and internal safety procedures.

Supplier Management & Quality Collaboration

  • Build a high-performing supplier management program including onboarding, qualification, scorecards, business reviews, and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Partner with Quality to ensure suppliers meet cGMP/GDP expectations, documentation requirements, change control, and traceability standards.
  • Establish supply continuity and risk management plans, including dual sourcing, safety stock strategies, and contingency plans for constrained materials.
  • Monitor supplier performance for on-time delivery, quality, and service; drive improvement plans and escalation management as needed.

Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)

  • Lead the S&OP cadence to align demand, supply, inventory, and financial plans; drive decision-making through clear scenarios and trade-off analysis.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Operations, and Finance to develop consensus forecasts and convert them into feasible supply and capacity plans.
  • Track KPIs (service level, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, schedule adherence) and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Own master production scheduling and short-interval planning to meet demand while considering radiopharmaceutical constraints (e.g., short shelf-life, cold chain, limited production windows).
  • Coordinate material availability, batch/lot planning, and capacity utilization across manufacturing, quality control, and packaging/labeling.
  • Establish and maintain planning parameters (lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, reorder points) and ensure data integrity in ERP systems.

Warehouse Operations, Inventory, Receiving, Shipping & Distribution

  • Own day-to-day warehouse operations and inventory management for raw materials, components, and finished goods, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and compliance with cGMP/GDP and internal controls.
  • Lead receiving, put-away, warehousing, cycle counting, and material movement processes; implement controls for temperature-sensitive, hazardous, and radioactive materials (as applicable).
  • Direct shipping, distribution, and logistics execution, including warehouse pick/pack/ship operations, carrier management, route optimization, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Ensure packaging, labeling, and shipping documentation meet regulatory, customer, and transportation requirements (including dangerous goods and chain-of-custody where applicable) and support compliant product release and distribution.
  • Drive warehouse and distribution scaling and continuous improvement (layout/space planning, staffing models, standard work, KPI dashboards, and systems utilization) to support growth and service levels.

KPI & Performance Metrics

  • Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and total delivered cost (materials, conversion, logistics) in partnership with Finance and Operations
  • On-Time In-Full (OTIF) / service level to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Shipped As Planned (schedule attainment) and shipment accuracy (right product/label/quantity/documentation)
  • Schedule adherence and manufacturing plan attainment (including short-interval planning performance)
  • Forecast accuracy and bias; S&OP plan stability
  • Inventory turns, days of supply, and obsolescence/expiry (critical in short shelf-life environments)
  • Inventory accuracy, cycle count performance, and lot/serialization traceability (as applicable)
  • Supplier on-time delivery, supplier quality (defects, deviations), and supplier CAPA effectiveness/closure
  • Purchase price variance (PPV), savings/value capture, and contract compliance
  • Freight and distribution cost per shipment; cold chain excursions and logistics deviations
  • Warehouse productivity and quality (dock-to-stock time, pick accuracy, on-time shipping, space utilization)

Systems, Analytics & Compliance (SAP / SOX)

  • Serve as the business owner for supply chain and procurement processes in SAP (e.g., MM/PP and related modules), ensuring effective workflows, reporting, and master data governance.
  • Design and maintain SOX-compliant controls across procurement-to-pay, inventory, and order fulfillment; partner with Finance and Internal Audit on testing and remediation.
  • Develop dashboards and analytics to monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and support data-driven decisions.
  • Support internal and external audits/inspections; ensure documentation, training, and procedures remain current and inspection-ready.

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Build, lead, and develop teams across procurement, planning, warehouse/inventory, and logistics; set clear goals, establish performance expectations, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Own organizational design, hiring plans, onboarding, and training programs; develop scalable SOPs and role-based capabilities to support rapid growth in a regulated environment.

  • Hands-on SAP experience supporting procurement and planning processes (e.g., MM/PP), including master data governance and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of SOX controls within procurement-to-pay, inventory, and related business processes.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and stakeholder management skills with proven results in cost, service, and risk outcomes.
