Proven Strides Learning Center is opening soon at the Eden Center in Erie, and were looking for caring, dependable Assistant Teachers to help build our classrooms from the beginning.

Youll work alongside Lead Teachers while gaining experience, strengthening your classroom skills, and helping children learn through play, routines, relationships, and developmentally appropriate activities.

Were also creating a workplace where employees can continue learning and advance.

Our extended hoursincluding evenings and weekendswill allow us to serve working families whose childcare needs extend beyond the traditional workday.

The Role

Assistant Teachers support classroom instruction and daily care while working with a Lead Teacher.

Depending upon qualifications, Assistant Teachers may also coordinate classroom activities and supervise Teacher Aides when the Lead Teacher is absent.

What Youll Do

• Help implement lessons, learning centers, and classroom activities.
• Assist with routines, transitions, meals, rest, toileting/diapering, and outdoor play as appropriate.
• Maintain active supervision and accurate child counts.
• Follow health, safety, sanitation, and positive-guidance practices.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain an organized, welcoming environment.
• Document routine information and observations as assigned.
• Communicate professionally with families.
• Participate in staff meetings, annual training, professional-development planning, and center improvement activities.
• Support your Lead Teacher and fellow classroom team members.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet a Pennsylvania Assistant Group Supervisor qualification pathway under 3270.36.

Qualifying pathways may include combinations such as:

• HS/GED plus 30 qualifying college credits;
• HS/GED plus approved training;
• HS/GED plus 15 related credits and qualifying experience; or
• HS/GED plus two years of experience with children.

Applicants must also maintain required pediatric CPR/first aid and mandated-reporter training and demonstrate strong attendance and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications

• CDA credential or CDA coursework.
• College coursework in ECE or Child Development.
• 12+ years of licensed childcare experience.
• A desire to continue learning and advance into classroom leadership.

Compensation

$16.00$18.50 per hour, based on verified education, experience, credentials, and qualifications.

Weekend shifts receive an additional $1.50 per hour.
