Proven Strides Learning Center is opening soon at the Eden Center in Erie, and were looking for experienced early childhood professionals to become some of our first Lead Teachers.

The Role

Lead Teachers are responsible for leading an assigned classroom and creating a safe, engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environment.

Youll also coordinate classroom staff, communicate with families, and help mentor Assistant Teachers and Teacher Aides.

What Youll Do

• Plan and implement daily curriculum and classroom routines.
• Create developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Coordinate Assistant Teachers and Teacher Aides.
• Maintain active supervision, appropriate ratios, child counts, and safe transitions.
• Complete observations, developmental documentation, lesson planning, and classroom records.
• Maintain learning areas, materials, sanitation routines, meal/rest procedures, and health and safety practices.
• Build positive relationships with families and communicate about childrens routines, progress, and needs.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, assessments, and continuous quality-improvement activities.
• Help create a positive, welcoming classroom where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet a Pennsylvania Group Supervisor qualification pathway under 3270.35.

Qualifying pathways may include:

• A bachelors degree in an applicable ECE, education, or human-services field; or
• A bachelors degree plus qualifying related credits and experience; or
• An associate degree in an applicable field plus qualifying experience.

Applicants must also maintain required pediatric CPR/first aid and mandated-reporter training and demonstrate strong attendance and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
• Experience working with infants through school-age children, depending upon classroom assignment.
• Curriculum and lesson-planning experience.
• Experience with Learning Beyond Paper or another approved curriculum.
• Experience with developmental assessment and family engagement.
• Familiarity with Keystone STARS.
• Experience mentoring other classroom staff.

Compensation

$18.00$21.50 per hour, based on verified education, credentials, experience, and qualifications.

Weekend shifts receive an additional $1.50 per hour.
