About Us:
Our Behavioral Health Department provides residential, intensive outpatient, and outpatient treatment services for individuals struggling with substance-use disorders and co-occurring disorders. We also provide mental health counseling services for adults and teenagers who are referred to us from within our provider network.

About the Position:
Counselors provide direct clinical care to clients of the Behavioral Health Department both at Serenity House Treatment Center and at the Intake office location. This position must have a detailed understanding of the 12-steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and be able to work with a wide range of clients experiencing chemical dependency issues. Counselors provide individual, group and family therapy, completing all required documentation.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- A minimum of one (1) year of Behavioral Health experience
- Chemical Dependency Counselor I Certification through the Alaska Commission for Behavioral Health
- BLSP (CPR) from the American Heart Association within 90 days of employment.
- Understanding of chemical dependency and mental health problems combined with a willingness to effectively intervene with families in crisis.
