POLICE CADET at Town of Rolesville – Rolesville, North Carolina

SUMMARY:

Under close supervision of Town of Rolesville Police Administration and local community college educators, Police Cadets attend NC Basic Law Enforcement Training (NC BLET) to obtain the certification needed to become a sworn Police Officer.

Designation in this position will run for the duration of the assigned BLET program.

To be considered, applicants must be successfully enrolled in a North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program by the date of hire. If selected for employment, you must obtain a NC Law Enforcement Certification once the BLET program has been fully completed.

Essential Duties and Tasks:

• Non-sworn position that attends NC BLET to obtain knowledge and skills required to perform Police Officer duties.
• (The following tasks are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.)
• Attends formal and comprehensive NC BLET program.
• May be assigned non-sworn duties in the Police Department.
• Performs related tasks as required.

Education:

• Must have earned a high school diploma or GED certificate.
• Must apply and remain in good standing in an accredited NC BLET program.

Experience:

• Must not have committed or been convicted of a felony or serious misdemeanor.
• Must be a United States Citizen.
• Must be at least 20 years old.

Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

• Driver’s license.

Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation:

• Driver's License

• NC Law Enforcement Certification
