Job Description

POSITION: Landside Supervisor

REPORTS TO: Airport Operations Manager

AIRPORT: New York Stewart International Airport (SWF)

SUMMARY: Position is responsible for overseeing, coordinating and maintaining the full operations of an airport Terminal and an in-house administered custodial and parking operation in an efficient and courteous manner in accordance with all Port Authority of NY and NJ, and Future Stewart Partners LLC guidelines and standards. This position requires the supervision of others.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible for supervisory functions pertaining to the custodial and parking operations.
  • Assist in the oversight of the terminal SUPPS System.
  • Assist in the oversight of the FIS APC System.
  • Assist in securing all materials and supplies, within budget, necessary for the smooth functioning of the terminal and parking facilities.
  • Assist with the hiring, training, supervision, counseling, scheduling and evaluation of all custodial and parking staff.
  • Assist with input on a comprehensive preventative maintenance program.
  • Coordinate all routine maintenance and repairs, with appropriate follow-up on assigned tasks.
  • Assist in managing the airport employee parking program.
  • Understand and assist with oversight of all tenant parking programs.
  • Assist with the snow removal operations of the parking lots.
  • Participate in Total Quality Management programs.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree in business or Airport Administration. Commensurate work experience may be substituted for the associate's degree requirement.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to function in a fast paced, high-pressure environment while handling multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to solve problems with sound reasoning ability.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Customer service experience required. Must be comfortable working with the public.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing. Ability to speak and understand the Spanish language is a plus.
  • Must have demonstrated experience and working knowledge of Windows Outlook (Email), Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to create, update and maintain department information.
  • Must have the ability to work flexible schedule including long hours, nights, weekends and holidays, if necessary.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Employee must possess and maintain a valid NYS driver’s license as a condition of employment. Driving record must meet company eligibility. Must be able to Qualify for a SIDA Badge with CBP endorsement.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Employee may often be working outdoors in all types of weather. Employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate during non-event days and moderate too loud during event days.
