About the Role
RIC is seeking a CAD Technician for the role of assisting engineers with designing and drafting activities, including preparing, updating, and assembling plan sets, and other civil engineering related tasks for a range of project types. An ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation. Candidates should have a strong sense of responsibility and organization. Primary Responsibilities
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley PowerGeopak in plan production.
- Communicate with the project leaders through all phases of project completion and meet deadlines.
- Prepare dimensional drawings and installation drawings for plan sets and application submittal documents.
- Develop, design, and modify engineering drawings for infrastructure, roadway, and site development projects.
- Regularly communicate and collaborate with the project managers before, during, and after completion of work
- Generate quantities and estimates from plan sets.
Requirements
- Work effectively and professionally with internal team members and external client personnel
- Experience with preparing civil engineering drawings.
- Intermediate to Advanced experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley PowerGeopak
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software
- Organized and punctual
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple teams.
- Ability to prioritize project deadlines.
- Ability to multitask, thrive in a fast-paced work environment, and prioritize project deadlines.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and ability to work with limited supervision.
- Experience in engineering environment or engineering and/or technical coursework
- Basic knowledge of local civil engineering design criteria
- Ability to remain in a stationary position approximately 90% of the day.
Education Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- An associate degree or higher in a civil drafting related curriculum preferred.
- In lieu of an associate degree a minimum of 3 year’s CAD experience
