LPN/Front Desk PRN in Plaquemine, Louisiana at Access Health Louisiana

Position Summary:

Licensed Practical Nurse provides quality nursing care to patients under the direction of a physician or registered nurse in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and Access Health Louisiana protocols and standards. This position is both administrative and clinical in that both front desk and LPN duties must be executed as a float between school-based health center sites within Iberville Parish.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

1. Current Louisiana LPN license and knowledge of their scope of practice.
2. CPR Certification required.

Experience

Minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience in Pediatrics, Family Practice or clinical/hospital settings.

Must have clerical/administrative experience, as well as nursing experience.

Physical and Mental Requirements

1. Stands and walks most of the day.
2. Read gauges, digital read-outs, graphs and educational material, and patient charts in English. (Visual acuity)
3. Ability to move to exam rooms and workspaces.
4. MUST be able to travel to other Access Health Clinics as needed. This is a float position. Travel is required. Use of own vehicle is required. Mileage reimbursement available.
5. Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, including pushing and/or pulling.
6. Operate office equipment including telephone, computer/internet, printer, and fax.
7. Ability to operate vehicle if needed for occasional travel to other Access Health Clinics.
8. OSHA Category I: Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.
