Summary

The Prosthetist is responsible for managing day-to-day clinical care, conducting comprehensive patient assessments to create individualized prosthetic treatment plans and performing procedures to deliver appropriate services, including prosthesis fabrication. In collaboration with the rest of the team, this individual will develop & execute the plan of care, including ongoing/follow-up appointments and evaluation, ensuring optimal fit and function of the prosthesis and compliance with various management policies. The ideal teammate will also demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement, engaging in various personal and professional development courses and programs.

Primary Duties

Patient Care

Assess patient needs and design prosthetic devices based on trauma, disease, or functional lossCollaborate with physicians on patient evaluations and development of prosthetic treatment plansDemonstrate expertise in biomechanics, gait analysis, and prosthetic componentryPerform measurements, castings, modifications, and prosthetic fabrication and fittingsEvaluate and adjust prosthetic devices for optimal fit, function, and qualityInstruct patients on prosthetic use and provide ongoing follow-up

Records & Documentation

Maintain accurate patient records, completing clinical notes in a timely fashionEnsure compliance with safety, Medicare, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations

Office Administration
