Role Summary
Manger will be responsible for overseeing and implementing comprehensive security measures to protect personnel, assets, operations, and infrastructure at a large-scale oil and gas production facility. This role involves developing, executing, and monitoring security strategies, policies, and programs to safeguard the facility against potential threats, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and fostering a secure working environment. They will manage a team of Security personnel, liase with the site owners representatives, and work along side all parties to ensure the Security program meets the facility owners mandate.
Responsibilities
· Liase with facility representatives and Backwoods while conducting and tracking client relationship management to assess client satisfaction and identify potential areas for improvement.
· Manage Security staff satisfaction and Client service being provided at site level. Utilize KPIs, performance evaluations, and one on one meetings.
· Systematically develop relationships with all key site personnel and Contractors to ensure lines of communication are consistent, open, and understood
· Work with site supervisors to ensure guards are meeting client expectations, Consistent and thorough training and development of all guards is occurring, and KPIs are being reviewed and always met.
· Assist in overseeing cost spending and tracking on daily basis by submitting timesheets to clients and reviewing site expenses for Security.
· Conduct and complete hiring interviews and participate in active recruitment opportunities for all open positions in the Security department at the site level.
· Manage the site security staffing ensuring site staffing requirements are fulfilled at all times. IE. Scheduling, Timesheet approval, Daily Ticket submission to client, and vacation/absence coverage planning.
· Complete engaging site visits interacting and supporting site level staff as well as engaging with the site level client reps to identify and solve any problems.
· Manage the Facility Security program as per the clients’ established policies and procedures.
o Ensure Security guards are following documented Post orders and executing access control procedures as per policy requirements.
o Ensure Emergency response protocol is trained, reviewed, and practiced on a regular basis with the Site Security team and Facility Emergency response team.
o Responds to and investigate all reported security incidents. Completed incident write up and review with designated site representatives.
o Reviews current Security protocols and procedures Annually and updates them to meet the facility needs and threats.
· Manage Backwoods Security safety program and the Facility HSE program to ensure it is being fully implemented and followed. Assist both Backwoods HSE rep and facility rep with any specific Security HSE requirements.
· Manage Backwoods and Facility supplied equipment assets according to contract needs ensuring company owned assets are maintained.
· Ensure Backwoods HR programs are being fully implemented and engage with HR Manager on any people matters as required.
· Ensure all contracts are read, understood, and being followed as required and clients are satisfied with our services.
· Capable workforce leader, able to provide expertise, best practices, and lead by example.
· Additional and alternative duties that may be changed from time-to-time by the Employer and Client.
Qualifications
· 3-5 years of Management experience in Construction, oil and gas or related industry
· 5+ years of Security/Law Enforcement/Military Experience (asset)
· Valid and current Alberta driver’s license
· Valid and current Alberta security license
· Highly Energetic and enthusiastic in engaging with Clients and Staff
· Must be flexible and willing and work additional hours as required
· Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
· Competency in Microsoft office suite.
· Experience using security reporting software.
· Highly organized, excellent decision-making skills and problem-solving skills
· Knowledge of management principles and skills.
· Leadership experience with excellent interpersonal skills
· Ability to obtain a Drug and Alcohol Clearance
· CSTS 2020 (or ability to obtain prior to employment)
· H2S Aware (or ability to obtain prior to employment)
