About the Role:

The Patient Services Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for patients within a healthcare setting. This position is responsible for managing patient registration, scheduling appointments, and coordinating communication between patients and medical staff. The coordinator acts as a liaison to facilitate efficient patient flow and accurate information exchange, contributing to the overall quality of care. By utilizing medical terminology and coding knowledge, the coordinator ensures that patient records and billing information are precise and compliant with healthcare standards. Ultimately, this role supports both clinical and administrative functions to enhance patient satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in a healthcare-related field preferred.
  • Experience working in a healthcare or medical setting with direct patient interaction.
  • Proficiency in patient registration and appointment scheduling procedures.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and basic medical coding principles.
  • Experience using Epic Systems or similar electronic health record software.
  • Availability Thursday - Saturday weekly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in medical coding or healthcare administration.
  • Experience specifically in radiology department coordination.
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare insurance processes and billing.
  • Strong computer skills including keyboard proficiency and data entry accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills demonstrated in a clinical environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage patient registration processes, including verifying insurance information and collecting necessary documentation.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of clinical resources and minimizing wait times.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using Epic Systems and other electronic health record (EHR) platforms.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff to resolve scheduling conflicts and answer inquiries.
  • Assist with medical coding and billing processes related to radiology and other diagnostic services to support accurate reimbursement.
