Overview
Bertrandt is seeking an experienced ADAS Software Integration & Measurement Engineer to support the integration, commissioning, and maintenance of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automated driving (AD) technologies in development vehicles. This role is responsible for ensuring software, hardware, sensors, ECUs, and measurement systems are fully operational and ready for testing, validation, and engineering activities.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with automotive software integration, vehicle instrumentation, data acquisition systems, embedded systems, and troubleshooting complex vehicle environments.
Responsibilities
Software Integration & Vehicle Commissioning- Deploy and integrate ADAS/AD software releases into development and test vehicles.
- Perform software flashing, configuration, calibration, startup, and functional verification.
- Integrate ECUs, sensors, computing platforms, and supporting hardware into vehicle environments.
- Maintain software versions, configurations, baselines, and vehicle-specific settings.
- Troubleshoot software, hardware, sensor, network, and system integration issues.
- Analyze diagnostic data, logs, communication traces, and system behavior.
- Perform root cause analysis and coordinate corrective actions with engineering teams.
- Document software configurations, integration status, and vehicle readiness.
- Install, configure, operate, and maintain vehicle measurement and data acquisition systems.
- Develop and maintain measurement configurations for testing, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
- Integrate sensors, data loggers, network interfaces, synchronization systems, and storage solutions.
- Support reliable acquisition of vehicle, ECU, sensor, network, and environmental data.
- Maintain in-vehicle computers, operating systems, networking equipment, and supporting infrastructure.
- Commission and calibrate sensors, measurement equipment, and ADAS components.
- Develop reusable vehicle instrumentation and measurement setups.
- Support installation and maintenance of ADAS components in prototype and development vehicles.
- Create setup documentation and provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians.
- Support requirements collection, system documentation, and integration planning activities.
- Identify system interfaces and dependencies across software, hardware, sensors, and vehicle networks.
- Assist with development of integration concepts, test plans, and validation strategies.
- Prepare vehicles and measurement systems for test and validation activities.
- Analyze collected data to evaluate system performance and investigate technical concerns.
- Support defect reproduction, regression testing, and verification activities.
- Document technical findings, test results, and corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive software integration, embedded systems, ADAS development, vehicle testing, or measurement systems.
- Hands-on experience integrating software and hardware into development vehicles.
- Experience with vehicle measurement and data acquisition systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving ECUs, sensors, vehicle networks, operating systems, and embedded software.
- Experience with automotive communication protocols including:
- CAN
- CAN FD
- FlexRay
- Automotive Ethernet
- Experience working within Windows and Linux environments.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Basic scripting or programming experience for automation and data processing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Experience with ADAS/Autonomous Driving development vehicles.
- Hands-on experience with camera, radar, lidar, GNSS, or localization systems.
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic architectures.
- Experience with vehicle-level testing, validation, simulation, SIL, and HIL environments.
- Familiarity with Automotive SPICE, Functional Safety, SOTIF, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience supporting automotive OEM programs.
- Experience collaborating with globally distributed engineering teams.
- German language skills are a plus.
