Job Title: Sr. Assembly Lead

Department: Operations

Reports To: Assembly Supervisor

Location: Columbus, OH

Work Hours: 10 Hour Shift (5 am to 3 pm) - 4 days a week

Job Summary

The Sr. Assembly Lead provides advanced leadership and coordination for assembly and/or coating operations, overseeing multiple lines or work cells and ensuring production, quality, and safety standards are consistently met across shifts or teams. In addition to performing all duties of an Assembly Lead, the Senior Lead takes on a broader role in supporting training, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position serves as an extension of the Production Supervisor and plays a key role in developing team leads, resolving operational challenges, and driving a high-performance, safety-focused culture.

This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality—reflecting Plaskolite’s core values of Integrity and Improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the work of multiple assembly lines, shifts, or teams to ensure schedule attainment, quality compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Act as a liaison between assembly teams and management, communicating expectations, priorities, and feedback clearly and consistently.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to Assembly Leads and other frontline team members, promoting development and accountability.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional meetings related to production planning, safety, maintenance, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor performance metrics and assist in identifying trends, root causes, and corrective actions to support safety, quality, and efficiency goals.
  • Collaborate with Production Supervisors and support departments to address equipment issues, material availability, staffing needs, and process constraints.
  • Oversee training and onboarding for new employees and ensure consistent application of standard work and best practices across teams.
  • Conduct 90-day training and performance evaluations for all new employees.
  • Support and reinforce adherence to safety policies, 5S practices, and proper handling of materials and equipment.
  • Serve as a backup to the Production Supervisor when needed, including shift coverage, escalation management, and reporting.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 10-12 years of manufacturing experience required
  • Strong expertise in coating processes or CNC operations required
  • Extensive experience working with onsite chemicals and protocols
