Job Title: Inventory Clerk
Department: Manufacturing
Reports To: Director of Operations

Role Purpose
The Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate hardware and inventory records, replenishing stock, and ensuring materials are available to support production requirements. This position manages inventory transactions, receiving, stocking, kitting, material issuance, and cycle counting to help ensure work orders are completed accurately and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive purchased hardware and verify quantities, part numbers, and condition against purchase orders and receiving documentation.
- Stock hardware and other inventory items in designated bin locations and maintain organized stockroom and warehouse areas.
- Update and maintain accurate inventory records in the company’s ERP/inventory management system.
- Generate material pick lists for hardware, kits, and work orders.
- Pick, kit, and issue hardware and materials to work orders in accordance with production requirements.
- Issue purchase orders to designated key suppliers for replenishment of inventory based on established demand and inventory requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify items requiring replenishment to support production needs.
- Work with key suppliers and maintain/update the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) program.
- Communicate inventory, supplier, receiving, or material issues to Purchasing for resolution.
- Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quantity, and damage and coordinate resolution of damaged, incorrect, or incomplete orders.
- Perform routine cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to inventory transactions, receiving, material movement, and replenishment.
- Move materials between the stockroom, warehouse, receiving, and designated production locations as needed.
- Follow established inventory control procedures, safety requirements, and work instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
Work Experience & Skills
Education:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
- Previous manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
- 2–4+ years of experience working in a stockroom, warehouse, inventory, or materials environment.
- 2+ years of experience working with an ERP or inventory management system, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with inventory control, receiving, material handling, and cycle counting preferred.
- Experience working with hardware, manufacturing materials, or production components preferred.
Skills / Knowledge:
- Ability to accurately enter and maintain inventory information in an ERP/inventory management system.
- Basic understanding of inventory control, material handling, receiving, and replenishment processes.
- Ability to read and understand basic written specifications, work instructions, purchase orders, and inventory documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in quantities, part numbers, or inventory records.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Purchasing, Production, Warehouse, Receiving, and suppliers.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple inventory-related activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and shipping environment. The position requires standing for extended periods and frequent bending and lifting. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Work includes operating or working near forklifts, pallet jacks, trucks, racks, and other material-handling equipment. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or other protective gear may be required.
