Position Overview
Eurasia Group is seeking an Executive Assistant to the CEO to work closely with our CEO, Maziar Minovi, and in close partnership with the Chief of Staff and the CEO Operations team. Eurasia Group is the leading independent global political risk research and consulting firm, providing financial and corporate clients with insight on how political developments around the world impact their interests and objectives. This position is based in our New York office.
This is a high-visibility role at the center of the firm’s leadership. The ideal candidate is a sharp, highly collaborative, and proactive professional who brings strong critical thinking, excellent initiative, and outstanding communication skills, and who thrives juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. This role will interact regularly with the CEO, as well as with senior business, media, and government contacts, and the Executive Assistant will act as a representative and face of the organization for the CEO and his team. Discretion, sound judgment, and a positive, team-first attitude are essential.
This is a primarily in-office position, with flexibility as circumstances allow. The nature of the CEO’s role and the global pace of the business may require availability outside of normal working hours on occasion.
Responsibilities
Executive Administrative Support (Primary Focus)
- Coordinate complex domestic and international travel arrangements, anticipating logistical needs and adjusting nimbly as plans evolve.
- Manage a heavy and frequently shifting calendar—scheduling meetings, protecting time for strategic priorities, and ensuring the CEO is set up for success at each engagement.
- Collect and format preparation materials, prepare agendas, compile reports, and furnish background information ahead of meetings, briefings, and external engagements.
- Prepare, track, and file expense reports with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Draft clear, well-crafted correspondence, memos, and emails on behalf of the CEO, demonstrating strong writing and briefing skills.
- Attend select internal meetings to track agendas, capture decisions, and produce follow-up notes and action plans.
Executive Operations & Business Development Support
- Partner closely with the Chief of Staff and CEO Operations team to advance the CEO’s strategic priorities and keep workstreams moving forward.
- Coordinate across teams to progress agendas for strategic working groups and cross-functional initiatives.
- Track and help drive follow-up on the CEO’s business development priorities, including relationship touchpoints and next steps with key external contacts.
- Contribute to special projects supporting the CEO’s strategic agenda, bringing initiative, problem-solving, and a can-do attitude to whatever the moment requires.
- Provide select personal scheduling and special-assistant support to the CEO as needed.
- Perform other administrative tasks that drive operational efficiency across the CEO’s office and the broader firm.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in an executive administrative support role within a fast-paced, client-services or professional services environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting senior leadership with a high degree of accountability, discretion, and responsiveness.
Critical Thinking & Problem Solving
- Strong critical thinking skills and sound judgment when prioritizing competing demands and navigating ambiguous situations.
- Excellent initiative and problem-solving ability—able to anticipate what the CEO and the team will need next, and act without waiting to be asked.
- Comfort juggling multiple tasks and workstreams simultaneously, with the ability to shift gears quickly as priorities change.
Communication & Briefing Skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including excellent writing for memos, professional correspondence, and emails written on behalf of the CEO.
- Strong briefing skills and the ability to synthesize information clearly and concisely for a senior audience.
- Poise and professionalism when interacting with high-level business, media, and government contacts on behalf of the CEO.
Interpersonal & Professional Qualities
- Highly collaborative team player with a positive attitude and a service-oriented mindset.
- Extreme attention to detail and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Can-do attitude, intellectual curiosity, and openness to learning new things.
- Maintains availability outside normal work hours when needed. While work-life balance is valued at Eurasia Group, the global, fast-paced nature of the CEO’s role occasionally requires evening or weekend responsiveness.
Subject Matter Interest
- While a degree in politics or international relations is not required, familiarity with and genuine interest in global politics is a significant plus for this role.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and collaboration tools; familiarity with CRM and/or project management platforms is a plus.
All applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $80,000 to $86,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
