CLINICAL DIRECTOR

Salary: $85,000 – $100,000/year (Negotiable depending on experience)

The Latin American Health Alliance (LAHA) is a dedicated non-profit organization based in Central Massachusetts, focused on improving the health and well-being of underserved communities, particularly Latinx population. We provide culturally sensitive addiction recovery services, healthcare access, and educational support. Our mission is to foster long-term health, stability, and empowerment, promoting sustainable solutions for individuals facing significant challenges related to substance use disorders.

This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape clinical culture at one of Central Massachusetts’ most mission-driven residential recovery programs. You will lead a dedicated multidisciplinary team, influence program design and policy, and make a measurable difference in the lives of Latino men on the path to recovery.
LAHA provides organizational support including ongoing professional development funding, CEU reimbursement, collaborative executive leadership, and a team deeply committed to culturally responsive care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Clinical Operations
Oversee all clinical operations including assessments, treatment planning, service delivery, discharge planning, and continuity of care.
Oversee intake, screening, and admission processes, including ASAM placement criteria, eligibility verification, and coordination of referrals.
Provide clinical oversight for crisis intervention, safety planning, behavioral escalations, and coordination with emergency or external providers when needed.
Provide clinical leadership and supervision to a multidisciplinary team.
Guide staff in the use of evidence-based practices: Motivational Interviewing, CBT, trauma-informed care, harm-reduction strategies, relapse-prevention planning, and co-occurring disorder treatment.
Promote a professional, ethical, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive clinical environment for both clients and staff.
Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and all privacy and security requirements for protected health information.
Collaborate with executive leadership to develop, update, and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and workflows aligned with regulatory and organizational requirements.
Maintain compliance with DPH, BSAS, and support preparation for audits and corrective action plans.
Support program development, clinical model design, and implementation of new services or treatment tracks.
Utilization Management & Documentation
Complete and oversee insurance authorizations, concurrent reviews, continued-stay requests, and clinical justifications in collaboration with utilization review and billing teams.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensure: Active LICSW, LMHC, or LADC1 license in Massachusetts, in good standing.
Language: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (speaking and writing).
Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and experience working with Latino/Latinx communities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with ASAM criteria, BSAS licensing, and state/federal residential program compliance (DPH, CARF/Joint Commission).
Familiarity with utilization management processes, including insurance authorizations and concurrent review documentation.
Formal training or certification in evidence-based modalities such as Motivational Interviewing, CBT, or EMDR.
Experience with EHR or clinical documentation systems in a residential or outpatient behavioral health setting.
Prior experience in a nonprofit or community health center environment.
