About the Accounts Payable Specialist Role:
We are looking for a detail-driven, high-energy Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and loves, loves numbers, data entry, reconciling, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
While this role is heavily focused on Accounts Payable, you'll also get to flex your skills across Accounts Receivable, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close. Every day is different and that's what makes it exciting, you will be helping our financial engine continue to run like a well-oiled machine and have fun doing it!
What you'll be Doing as the Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Processing high-volume (AP) Accounts Payable invoices, PO Receipts and resolving discrepancies.
- Reviewing, processing, and verify invoices for accuracy along with compliance and the proper authorizations.
- Reconciling credit card statements, vendor accounts, payment posting and collection support.
- Post and prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and assist with month end processes.
- Assist with sales, use, and rental tax reporting and all compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments across multiple locations to streamline A/P processes.
- Maintaining organized records along with supporting documentation is a must!
- Safeguarding confidential financial information and always maintaining all security standards.
- Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Always maintaining security and confidentiality of financial data in accordance with data protection regulations.
Work and/or Education experience for the Accounts Payable Specialist:
- 3-7 years in a high-volume progressive accounting environment (Heavy AP).
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree in Accounting is a plus but not a requirement!
- Strong analytical, data entry skills, organized, numbers are your jam, detail obsessed, dependable, and always proactive.
- A team player, positive, friendly, punctual and professional while enjoying collaborating across many departments with a can-do attitude.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and ERP software/Excel skills (Global Shop experience is a plus!).
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Physical and Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based, with occasional visits to industrial/commercial sites but usually not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
- Light physical activity including pushing, pulling, or lifting to 10lbs.
- Extended time at a computer workstation.
- This position is an on-site role - not remote or Hybrid – Located in Leeds, Alabama.
