About the Role

Are you passionate about creating beautiful smiles and delivering exceptional patient care? As an Orthodontic Assistant at Imagine Orthodontic Studio, you will provide high-level chairside support and specialized technical assistance under the direction of our orthodontists. Whether you are an experienced assistant or someone eager to learn the trade, we look for individuals who thrive in a collaborative, people-first culture.

What You'll Do (Essential Functions)

Clinical Procedures & Technical Excellence

  • Appliance Fabrication: Fabricate and fit orthodontic appliances and materials, including preparing teeth for bracket and band placement.
  • Archwire Management: Prepare, place, and secure orthodontic wires and ligature ties.
  • Chairside Support: Provide high-level assistance to the orthodontist during specialized dental procedures.
  • Sterilization & Readiness: Maintain a safe environment by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment in accordance with regulations and OSHA guidelines.
  • Impression Taking: Take precise patient impressions, and cast/trim diagnostic models for treatment study.

Patient Education & Record Keeping

  • Patient & Parent Education: Guide patients and parents on proper oral hygiene, appliance care, and post-operative instructions.
  • Clinical Documentation: Maintain meticulous treatment records and complete accurate clinical notes in our system.
  • Radiology: Expose dental diagnostic x-rays as required for comprehensive treatment planning.
What We Are Looking For (Qualifications)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • No experience? No problem! A strong willingness to learn and successfully complete our robust internal dental assisting program.
  • Technical tech-savviness, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and dental practice management software.

Preferred Qualifications (A Plus, But Not Required!):

  • State-specific Dental Assistant registration or a COA (Certified Orthodontic Assistant) credential.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly valued!
Physical & Mental Demands
  • Manual Dexterity: High-level finger dexterity to grasp, manipulate, and assemble very small clinical objects (like brackets and ligatures).
  • Postural Stamina: Ability to stand, sit, bend, or stoop for prolonged periods during chairside assistance.
  • Visual Acuity: Sharp close-range vision to perform precise orthodontic adjustments.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to follow highly technical, multi-step clinical protocols without error.
  • Communication: Exceptional active listening and speaking skills to convey care instructions warmly and clearly to patients.
