We are looking for full time night shift. The Respiratory Therapy Department at Moffitt Cancer Center specializes in the treatment of patients with a wide variety of diagnoses that also have related pulmonary diagnoses. Under the department’s scope of practice, we have responsibilities to evaluate and implement patient care modalities in critical care, floor care and urgent care areas. The Respiratory Therapy Department provides ventilator care, bronchodilator and other aerosolized therapy, blood gas collection and analysis and responds to medical emergencies throughout the facility among various other duties. We are a vital part of the healthcare team; in both our 200 plus bed Magnolia Campus as well as our soon to be opened 128 bed McKinley Campus; providing support for disease management, ventilator and airway management and patient education. We administer Respiratory Therapy Services upon the order of providers and within the scope of the policies, procedures and protocols established by the organization
Position Highlights:
- Responsible for the competent and proficient performance of all respiratory and cardiology procedures for critical and basic floor care.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Will be a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Has a minimum of 6 months experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Credentialed by the NBRC as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
Responsibilities:
- Competently performs all respiratory and cardiology procedures.
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge in the use of all respiratory and cardiology equipment.
- Documents in the hospital computer system all procedures performed per JCAHO requirements and department policies.
Credentials and Qualifications:
- Completion of a Respiratory Care program is required.
- Licensure in the state of Florida in Respiratory therapy is required.
- Current BLS required.
- ACLS certification required.
