ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation. The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. - Receives, stores and issues all items of supply and equipment in departmental storerooms or warehouses
- Inspects goods received to insure compliance with procurement specifications and quantity ordered
- Enters data of all serialized and non-serialized items into tracking systems
- Operates equipment including, but not limited to electric or gas operated forklift, for the purpose of unloading, relocating and loading palletized stock or other items
- Places bulk stock on pallets in the proper pallet pattern
- Maintains accurate records and forms and documents used by specific departments
- Ensures security of supplies, equipment, and materials
- Selects items by stock number, nomenclature and quantity for issue in accordance with approved requisitions
- Stocks and tracks inventory levels to determine ordering needs; takes periodic and special inventories, as directed
- Performs related work as required
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency
- One (1) year of experience in receiving, storing, and inventory control.
- Additional qualifying experience or completion of coursework at an accredited college or university in a job-related field, may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience or education.
- Experience in receiving, storing, and inventory control related to medical and fire supplies and equipment is preferred.
- Candidates will be required to pass a background investigation, which includes a polygraph examination, prior to employment.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The position involves medium physical demands, such as exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
The position involves the physical capability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and kneel. Some reaching, handling, sitting, pushing, and pulling will be required. Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact.
