Senior Faculty Recruiter

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Faculty Recruiter based in United States.

This role provides senior-level recruitment leadership for faculty and clinical positions within a large academic health environment.
You will manage full-cycle recruitment strategies for assigned departments, with a particular focus on hard-to-fill and high-profile roles.
The position combines strategic talent acquisition, candidate sourcing, stakeholder advising, and candidate experience management.
You will work closely with hiring leaders to define talent needs, strengthen sourcing approaches, and drive equitable selection processes.
The role also offers opportunities to influence recruitment operations through data analysis, process improvement, and subject matter expertise.
You will operate with significant independence while collaborating across HR, academic, clinical, and administrative teams.
Although primarily remote, the position includes occasional on-site presence and participation in recruitment events in Portland and across the United States.

Accountabilities
  • Lead full-cycle, strategic faculty recruitment plans for assigned departments and requisitions, partnering with hiring managers to define candidate profiles, recruitment timelines, sourcing approaches, and selection processes.
  • Conduct detailed intake meetings, refine job requirements, and ensure job postings effectively communicate the employee value proposition while using inclusive and compelling language.
  • Develop innovative sourcing strategies to attract diverse, qualified candidates for faculty, provider, executive, and other hard-to-fill positions.
  • Build and maintain candidate pipelines through direct outreach, personalized messaging, networking, job advertising, career fairs, professional events, and other targeted recruitment channels.
  • Guide hiring leaders and committees throughout the recruitment process, providing expertise on inclusive recruitment, interviewing practices, equitable decision-making, and candidate selection.
  • Manage candidate communications throughout the recruitment lifecycle, ensuring a responsive, professional, empathetic, and consistent candidate experience.
  • Track sourcing activity, recruitment outcomes, pipeline development, market trends, and retention data, using insights to recommend improvements to recruitment strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Serve as a trusted recruitment advisor to faculty, providers, staff, and leadership, responding to inquiries and providing practical guidance on recruiting and sourcing matters.
  • Collaborate with HR business partners, HR centers of expertise, staffing agencies, and other stakeholders to resolve complex recruitment issues and support assigned initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruitment workflows, efficiency, and service quality, participating in process improvement initiatives and applying lean methodologies where appropriate.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in designated recruitment responsibilities, share knowledge with colleagues, train team members and department staff, and provide operational coverage during periods of increased demand.
  • Support recruitment-related projects, meetings, events, and organizational initiatives while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, institutional policies, collective bargaining agreements, and professional standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible recruitment experience, including managing requisition portfolios, recruiting for hard-to-fill positions, and developing recruitment and sourcing strategies; equivalent staffing experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting and sourcing for specialized, difficult-to-fill, faculty, provider, executive, or similarly high-impact positions.
  • Strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusive recruitment practices, with the ability to promote equitable and accessible hiring processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with faculty, providers, staff, leadership, students, candidates, and community stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise, logical, accurate, and professional correspondence, reports, recruitment materials, and other documentation.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with the initiative to identify needs, anticipate challenges, and develop practical solutions with minimal direction.
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple requisitions, competing priorities, fluctuating workloads, and changing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative approach to resolving complex recruitment and operational issues.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email applications, and standard recruitment technology; experience with sourcing platforms such as SeekOut is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings and to provide clear guidance to hiring leaders and stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience in employee, provider, or executive recruiting and familiarity with advanced sourcing strategies and technologies.
  • Availability to work approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday during standard business hours, with occasional evenings or weekends when business needs require.
  • Ability to respond promptly and appropriately to urgent recruitment or operational matters.
  • Ability to work remotely while supporting occasional on-site activities in Portland, Oregon, and participating in recruitment events as needed.
Benefits

  • Full-time schedule of approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
  • Opportunities to contribute to a leading academic health environment focused on education, research, and patient care.
  • Career growth and professional development opportunities within a large, mission-driven healthcare organization.
  • Exposure to diverse faculty, clinical, academic, research, and administrative teams.
