As a Principal Consultant, you will provide advanced technical leadership, oversee complex telecom projects, and help drive consistent, high-quality delivery across teams. You will act as a subject matter expert while supporting clients, mentoring engineers, and improving internal systems and standards.
- Lead telecom, ICT, structured cabling, and low-voltage design efforts for complex, multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring accuracy, coordination, and compliance with established standards.
- Serve as a technical advisor to clients, project teams, and stakeholders by providing clear guidance, reliable execution, and strong engineering judgment.
- Manage selected projects as a technical project lead, maintaining alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and delivery expectations.
- Review project health, identify risks early, and recommend solutions to maintain successful outcomes and profitability.
- Develop and improve discipline standards, workflows, documentation, templates, and quality assurance processes.
- Conduct technical reviews, provide design feedback, and support QA/QC activities to improve project quality.
- Mentor engineers, designers, and production team members through coaching, technical guidance, design reviews, and constructive feedback.
- Support business development efforts by contributing technical expertise to proposals, interviews, client discussions, and strategic pursuits.
- Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication, proactive problem-solving, and dependable project support.
- Participate in industry events, knowledge sharing, and internal initiatives that strengthen technical capabilities and organizational growth.
The ideal candidate brings extensive telecom engineering experience, strong consulting skills, and the ability to lead technical initiatives while collaborating across disciplines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of experience in AEC, engineering consulting, or related professional services environments.
- Strong expertise in telecom/ICT, structured cabling, low-voltage systems, and technology infrastructure design.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders and deliver coordinated, high-quality solutions.
- Experience developing technical documentation, design standards, workflows, and QA/QC processes.
- Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies, client expectations, and professional services operations.
- Ability to mentor and guide engineers while fostering technical growth and collaboration.
- Proficiency with tools such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Studio, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and GitHub.
- Experience with documentation platforms, design collaboration tools, and technical workflow improvement initiatives.
- Preferred certifications include RCDD, CDT, EIT, PE, CCNA, or PMP.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, organization, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
- Willingness to occasionally travel to client sites, construction environments, and project locations as needed.
