SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Upholstery Supervisor supervises the upholstery staff and production in relation to upholstery orders and will be responsible for the quality and efficiency of production.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plan and organize the workflow of upholstery production processes, labor and equipment to meet departmental goals
- Scheduled daily production plans
- Review the current configuration of the upholstery operation and make recommendations on future configuration and new equipment to help effectively scale the department
- Partner with our design team to bring prototypes to production
- Help develop design specifications, cost information, and establishing quality standards for new product introductions
- Supervise the ever-growing upholstery team, comprised of upholsterers, seamstresses, cutters, packers and clerks
- Develop staff to streamline their workflow and ensure feedback on ideas flows from upholstery staff to QA and design teams (product feedback)
- Ensure proper staffing and production for upholstery and cushions
- Conduct process analysis to improve quality and efficiency
- Evaluate projects/orders and resource requirements; initiate necessary adjustments to ensure timely completion of production
- Determine and enforce quality control standards
- Create standard operating procedures for each production function
- Produce production reports that provide meaningful data for management team review
- Maintain inventory control of fabrics and other inventory flow through the department
- Order upholstery materials and supplies in a timely manner (including foam, general supplies and frames)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 4+ years of effective upholstery production management and staff development
- Experience in upscale furnishing upholstery; understanding of how to design an upholstery department and track record of a rapidly scaling upholstery operation
- Very strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills with analytical thinking
- Previous managerial experience with successful focus on employee engagement
- Clear oral and written communications abilities
- Bilingual English and Spanish

The pay range for this role is:
25.00 - 32.00 USD per hour (Hollywood, CA)
