Position SummaryMidwest Precision is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead our Quality Management System and quality operations within a highly regulated AS9100D and ITAR-controlled manufacturing environment.
This position is responsible for maintaining compliance with AS9100D, ISO 9001:2015, customer requirements, and regulatory standards while partnering with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Leadership to drive quality performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong manufacturing quality experience, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a passion for building systems that support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Essential ResponsibilitiesLead and maintain the AS9100D and ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
Serve as the management representative for the Quality Management System.
Lead AS9100D surveillance audits, recertification audits, customer audits, and internal audits.
Ensure compliance with ITAR regulations, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.
Develop, monitor, and report quality metrics and key performance indicators.
Lead root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
Manage nonconformance processes, customer complaints, and supplier quality issues.
Oversee inspection processes, calibration systems, and quality documentation.
Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve quality, productivity, and process performance.
Support new product introductions and process validation activities.
Develop and maintain quality policies, procedures, work instructions, and records.
Lead and develop Quality personnel through coaching, training, and performance management.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean principles and data-driven decision making.
Ensure organizational readiness for customer assessments and third-party audits.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and manufacturing quality experience.
Minimum 5 years of Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience managing an AS9100D and/or ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
Experience leading external certification audits, customer audits, and internal audit programs.
Strong understanding of corrective action systems, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality reporting systems.
Aerospace and defense manufacturing experience.
Precision CNC machining and assembly experience.
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), Lean, or Six Sigma certification.
Experience working with customer-specific quality requirements.
Experience supporting highly regulated manufacturing environments.
Successful maintenance of AS9100D and ISO certifications.
Strong customer satisfaction and quality performance metrics.
Effective corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
