Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Bolivar, MO is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our staff in the Hospital Laboratory Department! CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 Long-Term Care facilities and 1 residential care facility. About the Department: The Laboratory Services Department at CMH provides accurate and timely testing essential for diagnosing and treating both inpatient and outpatient conditions.

A typical day will include: Collecting and processing blood samples for the laboratory; acting as department receptionist; and filing and maintaining records.

• Collects specimens utilizing correct equipment and within specified timeframes
• Logs, prepares, and sends specimen to reference laboratory as indicated
• Calls, faxes, and / or sends test results to physicians as needed
• Greets and directs incoming patients to appropriate areas; answers incoming calls and forwards to appropriate personnel
• Cleans equipment and work area, and stocks supplies as needed

Job Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience: One or more years of experience performing phlebotomy duties is preferred
• Skills: Organization, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to multitask
• Licensure/Certification: N/A; phlebotomy certification is preferred
• Physical: Standing for the majority of the work day

The position is: Full-time rotating 1100-9:30pm and 2pm-12:30am with evening and night shift differential pay!
