Job Description
Job Title: Material Handler Department: Fabrication Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary: The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing materials, ensuring the smooth flow of production, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This role is crucial in supporting our lean manufacturing processes and contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of the shop.
Key Responsibilities:
· Material Handling: Receive, ship, inspect, and store raw materials, components, and finished products. Ensure accurate inventory management and timely delivery of materials to production areas.
· Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and report discrepancies. Utilize inventory management software to track and update stock levels.
· Lean Manufacturing Support: Implement and adhere to lean manufacturing principles, such as 5S, Kanban, and Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory systems. Identify and eliminate waste in material handling processes.
· Equipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of material movements, including receipts, transfers, and shipments. Prepare and update material handling reports as required.
· Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
· Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure seamless material flow and support production schedules.

Requirements:Qualifications:
· Previous experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
· Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
· Proficiency in using inventory management software and basic computer skills.
· Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
· Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials as required.
Shipping and Receiving experience is recommended.
