Job Description

GreenArrow is a rapidly growing infrastructure services organization building a national platform of best-in-class electrical infrastructure companies. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Vice President of Accounting to lead accounting operations across a multi-entity portfolio and help build the financial infrastructure needed to support long-term expansion.

Position Summary

The Vice President of Accounting will provide strategic and operational leadership for GreenArrow's accounting function. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will oversee multi-entity accounting operations, financial reporting, process standardization, system implementations, and acquisition integrations across a growing portfolio of companies.

This role is ideal for a construction accounting leader who enjoys building scalable processes, developing high-performing teams, and partnering closely with operations to drive financial accuracy and business performance.

This position is based in Chesterfield, MO and operates in a hybrid capacity, with regular in-office collaboration expected.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop a multi-state accounting organization, including regional accounting leadership.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, accountability, and best practices across all companies.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Support the evolution of accounting operations as the organization continues to scale.

Financial Reporting & Close Process

  • Oversee timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Standardize financial reporting processes, close calendars, and reporting packages across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in month-end close efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Construction Accounting & Operational Partnership

  • Lead accounting processes related to job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, underbillings/overbillings, and project financial performance.
  • Partner closely with project managers and operational leaders to ensure accurate estimates-to-complete, change order tracking, and project reporting.
  • Support compliance with prevailing wage, certified payroll, and other applicable contractual requirements.

ERP & Process Improvement

  • Lead accounting system implementations, upgrades, and process transformation initiatives.
  • Drive adoption and optimization of Vista/Viewpoint and related financial systems.
  • Develop and implement standardized accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Mergers & Acquisitions Integration

  • Lead accounting integration activities for newly acquired businesses.
  • Support due diligence, purchase accounting, opening balance sheet preparation, and post-acquisition integration efforts.
  • Establish repeatable processes to efficiently onboard acquired companies into GreenArrow's financial platform.

Compliance, Controls & Audit

  • Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance practices.
  • Lead annual audit and tax preparation activities and manage external audit relationships.
  • Support bonding and surety requirements through high-quality financial reporting.
  • Oversee multi-state tax compliance and related reporting requirements.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership teams to improve cash collection cycles and project-level financial performance.
  • Assist with treasury management and liquidity planning activities.

Required

  • Active CPA license.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting leadership experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure services, or a project-based environment.
  • Strong expertise in ASC 606 percentage-of-completion accounting, WIP reporting, job costing, and project financial management.
  • Experience managing accounting teams across multiple business units, regions, or locations.
  • Experience leading ERP implementations or major system conversions.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, audits, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred

  • Vista/Viewpoint experience.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed organization.
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, including integration and purchase accounting.
  • Familiarity with bonding, surety relationships, and construction industry financial requirements.
