About This Position
The Field Service Logistics & Support Coordinator is a service-minded, hands-on role responsible for providing centralized logistical, inventory, and equipment support to a national field service organization. This position serves as the primary shop-based support resource for remote crews, ensuring materials, tools, and essential equipment are available, maintained, and delivered as needed to support safe, efficient, and uninterrupted field execution.
Operating from a single central location, this role manages shipping and receiving, remote-crew inventory, tool control, minor equipment maintenance, and replacement-product coordination. Limited travel may be required on an exception basis to support urgent field needs.
Requirements:Remote Crew & Field Support
- Serve as the central point of contact for remote field crews requiring materials, tools, consumables, or replacement equipment
- Provide responsive, service-oriented support to minimize field downtime and improve execution readiness
- Coordinate emergency or expedited material needs in support of critical field activities
Inventory, Tools & Equipment Management
- Maintain and manage remote crew tool inventories and commonly used field materials
- Track issuance, return, condition, and location of tools and test equipment assigned to crews
- Support basic inventory control and traceability, including labeling, documentation, and system updates
- Identify gaps, shortages, or wear-and-tear trends and recommend replenishment or replacement
Shipping, Receiving & Logistics
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments of materials, tools, and equipment
- Prepare and ship equipment, kits, and materials to field crews across the U.S.
- Coordinate freight, courier, and expedited shipping as required
- Ensure all shipments are properly documented, packaged, and tracked
- Support returns, refurbishment shipments, and warranty-related logistics
Equipment Maintenance & Replacement Support
- Perform or coordinate minor equipment maintenance, cleaning, inspection, and basic repairs where appropriate
- Identify equipment requiring repair, replacement, or recertification
- Coordinate replacement products or loaner equipment to ensure field continuity
- Maintain readiness of commonly deployed tools and equipment
Emergency Support (Limited Travel/Driving)
- On a limited and exception basis, may be required to:
- Drive emergency materials to job sites
- Fly to deliver or retrieve critical equipment
- All travel is infrequent, planned as necessary, and directly tied to operational continuity
Systems, Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records related to:
- Inventory levels
- Tool assignments
- Shipments and returns
- Update ERP or tracking systems as required
- Provide periodic status updates to Field Service and Operations leadership
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all equipment shipped and issued is safe, serviceable, and compliant with company standards
- Follow company policies related to material handling, transportation, and safety
- Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient support area
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical, logistics, or operations training preferred
Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, field support, or service operations
- Experience supporting field crews or service organizations preferred
- Familiarity with tools, equipment, and materials used in electrical or industrial field service environments is a plus

- Practical mechanical aptitude for basic equipment handling and maintenance
- Effective communication skills across field and management teams
- Comfortable with inventory systems, shipping platforms, and basic reporting tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting national or multi-region field service teams
- Familiarity with high-voltage, industrial, or power-related field equipment
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel on an exception basis, CDL is a plus.
Working Conditions
- Primarily shop-based at a single assigned location
- Occasional lifting of tools or equipment (up to50lbs)
- Limited travel required for urgent support needs
- Standard business hours with flexibility to respond to critical field demands
