What Are We Looking For?

Lake Regional Health System is actively seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team.

The Registered Respiratory Therapist follows protocols in all inpatient areas, including ventilator management, oxygen therapy, bronchodilators, inflation therapy, and pediatric therapy. Interact closely in a team environment with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians. The successful candidate must be proactive with a self-starting mindset.

Responsibilities:

• Provide all respiratory treatments and modalities, including all inhaled medications, IPV, BiPAP/CPAP, NIV, IS, Ventilator Management and care, pulse oximetry, Oxygen therapy, Heliox therapy, EKGs, and bedside PFTs.
• Perform arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.
• Participate in shift report-reporting on all patients receiving respiratory therapy services.
• Initiate, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators and non-invasive ventilators.
• Educate patients and family members regarding care needed after discharge.
• Provide education to hospital staff relating to respiratory care for patients.
• Ensure optimum quality of care through ongoing education.
• Provides accurate, timely documentation of respiratory care provided to patients.
• Adheres to safety departmental, and hospital policy and procedures. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care of service appropriate to the age of the patients served.
• Embrace the culture of one by committing to each other, encouraging excellence, and care more than expected.

Qualification for Education

• Certification/Licensure required for job: CRT and RCP, RRT Preferred.
• Must have current BLS, and obtain ACLS and NRP once hired.

An annual influenza vaccination is required.
